Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Saturday said the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project would not only help address the issue of energy shortage but also improve the country’s economy.
Speaking to media persons after planting a sapling in the lawn of Government College Hyderabad here, the Prime Minister said the world was fully aware that initially India was also included in the gas pipeline project.
Pakistan has entered into an agreement with Iran for overcoming the energy crisis, which has become a great burden on its economy, he added.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, federal ministers Syed Naveed Qamar and Moula Bux Chandio, and provincial ministers Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq and Zahid Bhurgari were also present at the plantation ceremony.
