Pakistan enjoys brotherly relations with Qatar: PM

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Friday said that Pakistan enjoys brotherly relations with Qatar, which has always stood by Pakistan in times of need.

The Prime Minister was talking to Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Thani, member of the Royal Family of Qatar, who called on him here at the PM House and discussed matters of bilateral interests.

Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Thani said the government of Qatar has recently constructed a model village in Rahim Yar Khan District comprising 200 houses of two rooms each, two schools, play ground, mosques and a shopping area.

This village was constructed to rehabilitate people displaced by the recent floods, he said, adding, the government of Qatar plans to construct more such model villages in Pakistan.

Appreciating the keen interest taken by the Royal family of Qatar, the Prime minister said that this shows the love and affection of the Royal family and people of Qatar for the people of Pakistan.

He said that Qatar has always stood by Pakistan in times of need. In this connection, the Prime Minister recalled Qatar’s assistance during recent floods and visit of Crown Prince of Qatar during the earthquake.

Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Thani informed the Prime Minister that Qatar had made investments in Pakistan and was exploring new opportunities to invest more in the country.Ambassador of Qatar in Pakistan, Sayar Abdur Rehman Al-Mawada, and Chief Coordinator, Prime Minister Secretariat, Sadiq Sanjrani were also present in the meeting.
